Angel Scrubs was started in 2020 by mother-daughter duo Angelene and Annuscha.
Angelene, a self taught seamstress and dressmaker decided to make a new set of scrubs for her daughter Annuscha, a medical doctor in the state sector. Annuscha had been using a safety pin to keep her scrubs together as they’d been torn from constant wear and tear on long night shifts. An unforeseen event then happened: the COVID-19 pandemic. Annuscha was worried about Angelene as dressmaking was not seen as an essential service, meaning that her mother was now out of work. At the same time, medical professionals were looking for scrubs to wear at work as they did not want to bring COVID home to their loved ones.
Mother and daughter combined their knowledge, experience and love for their trade to form Angel Scrubs.
Initially, Angelene was making scrubs for a select few people from her home on her household sewing machine. Now, her company employs 4 staff members from the local community and provides uniforms to a wide array of professions all over the country (and abroad).
